…And not in the way Donald Trump has either. I’m very excited to announce that Embassy of the Dead is going to be coming out in the USA sometime next year. Hooray for me.
The Summer holidays are nearly over, and in between arranging Sylvanian Families, watching Cbeebies, and picking lego out of the rug, I've been at a couple of book festivals. Both Hay and Edinburgh were absolutely awesome, and not just because I was talking. My kids loved listening to Ed Vere, Tracey Cordrouy, Steven Lenton, and Nick Sharrat at Hay, and I got to meet loads of amazing people at Edinburgh. There's just one more festival for me this summer and it's at the beautiful Broughton Hall (above). I'll be talking Mabel Jones/ Embassy of the Dead for 7+ and I Can Only Draw Worms for all ages. You can get tickets here. Hooray!
Crikey! My picture book I Can Only Draw Worms has been nominated for the Carnegie/ Greenaway award. I'm not really sure why. I'm assuming one of the judging librarians ticked the wrong box or something. Looking forward to being left out of the long list and returning to relative obscurity. The complete list can be found here.
I'm super excited to say that the good folk at Beakus and CBeebies have let me write a couple of episodes for their awesome new show Olobob Top. MORE NEWS SOON!!
Check out this lovely review of I can only draw worms from the ACE Read it, Daddy! website.
"We love how Will has basically poked fun at himself, at counting books, and the picture book format."
